Cheia village is located in the heart of the Apuseni mountains of Transylvania, right next to the beautiful Ramet Gorges (Cheile Rametului). We are hidden in a valley, kilometers away from car access, surrounded by rivers, wild forests, majestic mountains and landscapes.

Our place is ideal to get away from it all, go hiking, explore nature, find peace, look at the stars, read a book, play the guitar, swim in the river, play with our dogs, take photos, watch our horses, collect eggs from the chickens, make a fire, stay in the hammock all day… you choose.

Come for the day or a weekend

and make some memories to take with you.

You have the option to just come visit for a few hours if you want to get to know the place and cross the Ramet Gorges or the Goat’s Path. Or you can stay with us over night for as long as you wish.

We have a traditional guesthouse which is part of our museum, or you can bring your own tent and camp on the fenced courtyard.

Either way, you will find yourself in our little wonderland.

This place is one of a kind. I’ve travelled the world with Airbnb and I was once a ‘super host’ of my own airbnb, but I’ve never come across anything like what Gabriel has done here. It’s a very special place and it’s a very memorable experience to stay there. Isabel and Gabriel and all of the animals welcomed us so warmly. They shared their lives with us. I still miss the cats (and I’m a dog person). The food is so good, the walk with Gabriel and the horse through the forest is special. We really needed peace in our lives when we got there and they certainly delivered that to us. Thanks again guys. We’ll be back and we are friends for life.

Cheia is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The traditional home is stunning and such an experience to stay in. Gabriel is the perfect host, kind, knowledgeable and generous. We stayed longer than we planned but would have loved to stay longer still. We cannot wait to go back and stay again.

This is THE place to be. Gaby, Eliane and Alice are incredible hosts. They take the time to explain everything, ordered a taxi for us and were so helpfull for everything. The place Cheia Is just amazing, relaxing and beautiful. Surrounding by forests, cliffs, rivers. Just the best Airbnb I’ve been in my life. Thanks again for this adventure.

Wonderful place and a great host. The location is like a fairy tale with overwhelming wilderness. The unique experience of living in a traditional cottage. Well-equipped field kitchen and hot shower. It's a great starting point for numerous hikes in surrounding mountains and gorges. We will definitely come back here. Highly recommended!

Cheia village is a remote location,this is what brings uniqueness to this piece of Heaven. If you want to find happiness in simple things and reconnect with nature,this is definitely the place to go.
